My Old Motorcycle
The one above is my old 1979 Honda CX 500 Custom...crashed it into a guardrail in 2001. Broke my femur into 6 peices, shaved off most of my left elbow and now have 14 screws and a plate there. Lost a peice of bone in my right hand and now have 5 screws and a plate there also. Good times! Now I ride a slightly smaller hog.

Jesus you broke your femur? That takes a lot to do. Well done. I have a patient who did the same thing on his motorcycle - got hit by an SUV. I'm sure they are awesome to ride, but people in cars don't know how to look out for people on bikes anymore. It's getting so damn dangerous. My sister x-rays 5 a week, easily. Connecticut is getting far to congested.

Yeah, femur was destroyed...they just connected a rod from what we left on the hip-end to what was left on the knee-end. Got the lifestar helicopter ride and everything. Angieoplasty, root canals, road rash...I went for the deluxe package.

Bikes have always, always scared the shit out of me. Same with ATV's, dirt bikes, and gypsies. I have honestly been considering fixing up an old Triumph though, I dig those.

How did you crash it? Was it raining or were your hit or something? Or did you just lose control?
