Bad Few Days in Newington
Well, lots of weird stuff has been going on here today. I feel really bad for everyone who is involved. This is what I know so far.
Friday night, one of the high school kids went out with his friends riding their ATV's. He was riding without a helmet and was unfamiliar with the terrain. Apparently, he hit a metal gate and it hit him square in the face. Broke his neck and he died.
Tonight they are holding a memorial for him at the Newington High School parking lot.
About 5 minutes ago my mom yells at me from the other room. She says that the police officer who acts as a truancy type officer at Newington High was shot a little while ago. Apparently her ex-boyfriend found out she had a new boyfriend and he followed her to her sisters and shot her. She was young (in her 20's)
I guess he is currently on the run. Most of the police in Newington are at the memorial service for the boy who died in the ATV accident. I just heard a bunch of police cars go racing by my apartment.
Its going to be a very bad week for the kids in that school. Its pretty much horrible all around.

man i am so sorry.. a girl passed away in my hometown about 2 weeks ago.. it was awful. u and ur community is in my prayers

Turns out the guy killed himself and 2 Newington officers in wolcott park in West Hartford.

Bad things ALWAYS come in 3's.
Really too bad though. Maybe the screening process for state troopers isn't stringent enough? Who knows.

I guess there were conflicting reports last night. Only 2 people were killed (the girlfriend and the killer shot himself). I think they were both cops.

Yeah, the guy was a state cop who had already been booted off the force for drunk driving and some other mishaps. The girl was a resource officer at Newington High School.

I didn't hear he was a former SP, I just saw that it was a State Trooper, but that was last night that I saw it.

The weird part about the kid getting killed on the ATV is that he died 8 years to the day my friend Bobby shot himself after school. That was November 18. The very next day his friend Jen Partridge got hit by a car and died. November is not a good month for NHS.

Yea. WH wa all kinds of nuts. My father has a scanner thingie cuz he works for one of the town in Ct, and we were listening to them look for the guy. It was awful. They had everything all blocked off and stuff. All I heard was sirens on and off for a few hours, and I'm not even right where it happened. I'm like 5 minutes away. Crazy stuff.

hey!! no shit that truancy officer that shot that chick in her home, that happened like 2 houses down from me... my parents have this awesome house on woodpond, and when they were buying the house they had that whole area of ridgewood rd caution-taped off. apparently he parked his car at wolcott park, so they thought he was wandering around west hartford... but he'd shot himself in another part of the house.
