I just got paid! The lady came around and brought my check right to my desk. First check! Woot! The secretaries around the corner were like, "He doesn't have direct deposit?!?!?" I guess I'm like one of 2 people who don't get direct deposit. I like getting live paper checks better. I feel like that SNL skit with Kenny Wilkins...the first black man to say "Hell no!" to direct deposit.
Dude, I used to like getting the paper check too, until I spent countless friday nights/saturday mornings in line at the bank. Go direct deposit dude...it's worth it.
I like going to the bank. For one, the tellers at the branch I go to were regular customers at the gas station I used to work at so its good seeing them. Secondly, I always feel important standing in line at the bank. Like I got some kinda business I gotta take care of. Even if its a 25 dollar tax refund check.
Dude, direct deposit rules for a few reasons:
A) no waiting in line at the bank
b) sometimes you get fees waived if you have direct deposit.
But of course, as is with everything else, it's a f**king hassle trying to set it up. Fuck, you practically need a permission slip from your parents.
Yeah, the HR lady here at the office says that I have to bring in a voided check so that they can get the routing number. I haven't seen my checkbook in 5+ years and I haven't a clue where it could possible be. I probably should get a new one.
