Well, I finished 'Ghost Ship' (Mary Celeste) today. It was pretty good I suppose. Now I have nothing to read on the bus and the ride seems a lot longer. Now I'm in the market for a new book and I was wondering if you guys have any recommendations. I know Joe recommended something about water to me in a different thread but I was wondering if anyone else has read anything good lately. I'm a history dork so I really like that kind of stuff. I try to stay away from the conventional novel with 'plots' and fictional characters. I suppose historical fiction is alright, but I'd rather learn real facts.
Cavutto, I'm a big book nerd and a history nerd. Right now I am reading Napoleon Bonaparte and Imperial France and Napoleon and the Hundred Days. If figured that since I am so teeny in height, I could use some Napoleon-istic tactics. I'll let you know how they go.
Ever hear of the book Europe? It's about how it all began over there, the start of civilization. Don't know if that is of interest, I'm going to have to read it for my European Politics class.
It depends what type of book you're into. My favorite book is
Dune by Frank Herbert. The Lord of the Isles series by David
Drake is excellent. Of course, the Chronicles of Narnia. If
you're not into fantasy or sci-fi, the Picture of Dorian Gray is
great. Anything by Thomas Hardey. I enjoy Jane Austen, but
I hear men really hate her novels. :P
