Friday

Man, this week flew by like a double-wide in a tornado.  The other librarian is gone today and I've got the place to myself.  Well, really this isn't much different than most days except today I have to field all the reference work on top of my other responsibilities.  The sad part is that I've taken care of my responsibilities already and there has only been one reference request as of yet.  It really doesn't feel like a Friday though and I dont' know why.

i'm so jealous because you work at a library.  i love libraries, i almost became a librarian but then decided that that would just kill the joy of being in a library if i actually had to be there, you know.

Its not your typical library.  I work in a law firm and I look after our miniscule 'library' of law books but lately I've been mostly doing research on different things and all around information gathering.

i'm still jealous, books are books, at the dept store i used to work at they used these old law books to display some of the merchandise, i'd sneak one and read it behind my register to kill time and boredom

Case law and legislative histories can be pretty interesting to read.  I can't say the same for statutes.

Hehe, thanks, it's nice to stop the insanity or at least slow it down.  The 'bottomless pit of vanity' and I have a love/hate thing going on.  Love the music, hate the riffraff.

You do have quite a way with words.  I've always been crap at writing simile~metaphor~comparison, so I admire that.

Yeah, I just picked up 'Similies for Idiots' last weekend and now I'm posting nonsense like a teenage Faulkner on Ritalin.
