Holy Crap Man!

Holy frickin' crap!  The other librarian here just told me that she is three months pregnant!  I'm really happy for her and she seems pretty much ecstatic about it.  However, this development has a pretty big impact on me as well.  What if I'm the baby daddy?  Ha ha...no, seriously, there are only two of us here in the Hartford office and with her on maternity leave for six months, I'll be here running the show all alone.  That is pretty frickin' fantastic for many reasons.  First off, if I can manage to keep everybody happy and not screw up too many things, that will look unbelievable to upper management...whoever that is...I'm not really sure.  Secondly, I'll get experience in all aspects of law librarianship including, but not limited to, the handling of paperwork (invoices, ordering, timesheets etc.), a lot more research and a whole crap load of stuff I haven't even begun to think about.  Well, I guess it is limited to a whole crap load really.  So, she's due in September and she'll probably be gone from then until midway through March of 2007.  That's a long long LONG time to have to do everything by myself.  I'm pretty excited but also a little nervous.  Mostly excited though because I think that I'll do a stellar job.  So, congratulations librarian!

I just inherited a whole bunch of new responsibilities myself. I don't know how my friend Mike handled all my tasks plus all his before I got here...it's insane. The last three people who had my job before I got here were apparently complete morons, so now all the people in other departments are like "You're the fuckin' man!" even though I really don't do shit....or at least don't feel like I do shit. This year I'm handling some of the gov't audits which is a lot of work...long story short, responsibility rules.

Man, same thing here. I just inherited about 15 new pieces of various hardware just this week. Its a TON more work but I love it. Ill finally have something to do all day rather than wait for people to update their blogs.
