Escape Artist

I think the escape key is kind of useless.  I haven't really used it for anything in a pretty long time.  It's nice to know that it's there though, I guess.  What the hell would I be escaping from anyways?  Do computer people who make computer stuff even give it a function anymore?  I am sorta assuming that it was a neccessity like back-in-the-day when computers sucked more than they do now and stuff would happen that you would need to escape from.  It makes me think of like caveman days when people were living in a dangerous world where sabertooth tigers would pop out of the bushes and go all toothy mental on you, but we don't really need to 'escape' from stuff anymore.  We just calmly 'close' the application.
